The main critical issue with this step lies in Serbia’s problematic relationship with Kosovo and the partial existence of parallel government structures in north Kosovo, as well as physical barricades. Once again, I would like to emphasise that enlargement and integration, particularly when the geopolitical situation is dangerously unstable, are not an automatically achievable combination but just one possible scenario among many other more probable and less favourable ones."@en1
