"I voted in favour of the report. The European Endowment for Democracy (EED) could be a useful tool provided it delivers added value by playing a complementary role to that of existing funding instruments, specifically the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) and the Instrument for Stability, and not overlapping with or curtailing their activities. I also agree with the fact that the fund could launch projects which could later be continued by the EIDHR or the geographic instruments, creating a programming interface so as to ensure coherence and sustainability in the longer term."@en1
