"I voted against the Vaughan report on the draft budget for the European Parliament for the financial year 2013. I do fully support the measures and guidelines contained in this report, such as freezing our Parliament’s budget in real terms, freezing Members’ allowances, the cuts made in the budget relating to travel, the various savings that have been made, etc. However, this report contains three provisions/paragraphs that are clearly anti-Strasbourg. That is why I voted against it. The debate and attacks on the location of the seat of the European Parliament are coming up more and more often and I am very aware of that. Of course, for a long time, it was a question of symbolism; but today, and above all, it is a legal and political matter. I remain firmly committed to this ongoing fight to keep the European Parliament’s seat in our beautiful European capital."@en1
