Of course, tax revenue is one of the most important tools with which the Member States can tackle the problems associated with the crisis. I warmly welcome the proposal put forward by Mr Casa. I think that it is essential to create a European fiscal union that includes a comprehensive, rapid, efficient and user friendly exchange of information among Member States in order to improve the fight against tax evasion and to optimise the revenue paid into Member States’ coffers.
