"At present, only 10 Member States take part in resettlement (the transfer of refugees from outside the EU to a Member State). The aim is to get more Member States involved in the resettlement effort as well as to increase the amount Member States receive per resettled refugee. It is therefore proposed that the ERF Decision should be amended, so that Member States which resettle according to the common EU annual priorities would receive financial assistance if they pledge to resettle refugees who fall within the specific categories.
