"I voted in favour of this report because I believe the existing rules on air passenger rights need revising in order to improve the situation of passengers, especially in the event of long delays or cancellations. I would argue that proper application of the existing rules by Member States and air carriers, enforcement of sufficient and simple means of redress, and providing passengers with accurate information concerning their rights should be the cornerstones of regaining passengers’ trust. Lastly, there is a need for a better definition of the role of the enforcement bodies set up by the Member States, since they do not always ensure effective protection of passenger rights."@en1
