lpv:translated text	"I want to draw attention to several aspects of this report. Firstly, I am convinced that we should not set specific CO reduction targets. Setting such binding targets would lead both to a reduction in the EU’s competitiveness and would be a burden on smaller EU Member States. Secondly, I want to stress the need to promote increasing energy efficiency and renewable energy (together with the development of ‘smart networks’). Efficient use of energy (like other resources) would not only contribute to reducing CO emissions but would also have positive economic results – it would save raw materials that are becoming increasingly expensive."@en1
