Tackling climate change and promoting technological innovation are key priorities for Liberal Democrats in the UK, and this report serves to emphasise the potential for economic growth that can be unlocked by making the transition to a low-carbon economy. It is crucial that we face the challenges of climate change, rising oil prices, and political instability in oil-producing countries head on; making the investments in energy efficiency and renewables in Europe will help stimulate our economy, reduce energy prices for ordinary citizens, and develop the economic and environmentally sustainable economy which we desperately need."@en1
