If we, the European Union, do not state clearly that we are the protectors of the Christians in the world, then this type of problem will continue to arise. We are generally in favour of religious freedom and inter-faith dialogue on a fair basis. However, we also need to state quite clearly: if we do not look after Christians, then who will?
