"Mr President, I in no way approve of Poles or any other fellow Europeans being singled out because of who they are. A great many of them are upright, hard-working people, but the question is whether the specific aim of the Dutch Party for Freedom (PVV)’s website was to sow hatred, as has been all-too-easily asserted here.
We are talking about a website used to record problems. It seems to me that the chamber of this Parliament is probably the only place where you can find people who think there are no problems with Schengen. Schengen, and the opening-up of internal borders, was a godsend for organised crime. Instead of behaving like some kind of court of political correctness and of pseudo-moral added value, we would do better to acknowledge the problems and then tackle them. That is precisely the kind of attitude that could improve the collaboration and mutual respect between all the peoples of Europe."@en1
