"I welcome the resolution adopted by the European Parliament on the 2011 report on Bosnia and Herzegovina. I welcome the political stabilisation of the country through the formation of a national government capable of implementing the numerous reforms needed to pursue the path of accession. There are many challenges, especially with regard to the economic situation in the country, which has a high level of youth unemployment, reducing the bureaucratic burden and combating corruption. In this regard, Parliament urges the new government to give priority to the reforms needed for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s accession to the World Trade Organisation in order to encourage an even more positive business environment and attract more foreign investment. However, it is important to stress Bosnia and Herzegovina’s good cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, to which it has responded promptly and adequately. The efforts to resolve the outstanding issues between Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia, which have intensified in the last few months, are proof of Bosnia’s proactive approach; an approach that should be encouraged."@en1
