I am pleased with the improvements that it brings to the previous agreement in respect of health and working condition standards. The conclusion of this agreement by the European Union represents a real step forward for the cocoa industry. It is a balanced agreement which takes into account the interests of producers and consumers. It favours international cooperation, increases transparency in the sector and, ultimately, ensures that it has a sustainable future. Furthermore, I welcome the adoption of the resolution on child labour in the cocoa sector."@en1
