Prompt, well-coordinated actions are also necessary in every area at EU level to ensure not only economic growth but also the creation of jobs. Economic recovery must be supported by the EU’s annual budget. Institutions must demonstrate a responsible attitude and better organisation, and interinstitutional cooperation is vital. I think that it is important for the austerity measures adopted so far to be supplemented by measures aimed at increasing investment and stability. We must not ignore the economic potential offered by SMEs, which provides the basis for economic growth. I think that we need to step up our joint efforts so that the measures adopted at EU level will facilitate the budget’s implementation."@en1
