Do you agree with me that the Charter of Fundamental Rights enshrines the fundamental rights of the citizens and the workers of Europe? I have heard that the Commission is planning a Monti II Regulation which states that the fundamental right to strike can only be exercised if it is in proportion to the freedom to provide services. This means that if a service provider wants to go in for social dumping, it can do so. However, if the trade unions call a strike to oppose this, they must first ask themselves whether this could cause damage to the service provider. As a result, the right to strike will be significantly restricted. The question I have is: can you explain to me what the benefits of a Monti II Regulation of this kind will be?
