"It is good to hear you talking about infrastructure, because investment in infrastructure is so critical to growth and competitiveness. But, Commissioner Barnier, last week, one of the UK’s largest insurance companies said they may move to Hong Kong. Then the head of the British insurance industry warned of large reductions in infrastructure investment, and a huge infrastructure owner told me their investors’ increased costs could add over 10% to every project investment. All of this is due to uncertainty regarding Solvency II, so it is a very simple question, Commissioner: please will you ask Mr Balz to stop rewriting Solvency II through the Omnibus Directive?"@en1
