lpv:translated text	"I voted in favour of this text because I think it is essential to protect cooperative societies, which are structurally linked to the area in which they operate and therefore play an important part in accelerating local development, which is a decisive factor in generating genuine social, economic and territorial cohesion under the Europe 2020 strategy. As it stands, legislation regarding cooperatives and employee participation varies substantially across the Member States and the Statute for a European cooperative society is currently the only social economy legal form available at EU level. Its introduction would therefore represent a milestone in the recognition of the cooperative business model at EU level."@en1
