lpv:translated text	"The Council of Europe recommendation on balanced participation of women and men in political and public decision making, adopted on 12 March 2003, puts forward a set of measures, including positive action measures to facilitate a more balanced participation of women and men in political and public decision making. Women are still under-represented in political decision-making assemblies across the European Member States, making up 24% of the members in national parliaments. I am therefore voting in favour, so that effective multifaceted strategies are implemented at EU and national level for increasing women’s engagement and participation in decision making and leadership, through quantified targets, regular monitoring mechanisms and clear action plans."@en1
