"I strongly support the rapporteur in this report. Time-framed gender based quotas are an excellent idea and have been shown to work in many Member States. It is crucial that the untapped potential of women is integrated into political and economic decision making. I also support Commissioner Reding’s view that the public consultation which will take place should not be about whether we need greater numbers of women in decision-making processes, but about how to achieve that aim."@en1
