Furthermore, the Member States must increase their efforts to implement the objectives set out in the Europe 2020 strategy. Differentiated growth-friendly fiscal consolidation must therefore be continued at both national and EU level and normal conditions for lending to the economy restored. All Member States should prioritise growth-friendly policies. We must ensure that the EU financial system is more resilient in order to increase competitiveness and boost economic growth. It should be noted that the public services provided in many countries are of a poor standard.
