Unfortunately, over the last two years, it has been forced to take considerable steps to try and keep it running and avoid bankruptcy. Through today’s vote, the EU has done its part to try and prevent a fresh crisis in this sector and all the ensuing repercussions in terms of small producers losing competitiveness and jobs being lost. Accordingly, I think we need to adopt the proposals in the report, especially in terms of retaining flexibility in contract negotiations, which will allow small producers to vary their output more easily."@en1
