lpv:spoken text	"I supported the agreement on the proposed changes to the Bluetongue Directive so as to allow livestock farmers to vaccinate against bluetongue beyond areas subject to animal movement restrictions on 14 February 2012. I believe this will provide greater flexibility to develop national strategies on the prevention and control of diseases, without placing an additional burden on both farmers and national administrations. Although the UK is not part of the bluetongue zone anymore, I am glad that this proposal allows farmers to protect their livestock from the risk of disease in the future by vaccinating preventively if they wish to do so. I welcome the fact that this vote has taken place on time, so as to ensure that vaccination campaigns can get under way this year before the bluetongue season starts."@en1
