I welcomed this resolution because we need to encourage greater cooperation between the Member States and EU institutions. Above all we need to encourage private–public cooperation in enhancing law enforcement cooperation. Attention should be drawn to the fact that the regulatory framework should not create an additional administrative burden.
New competitive business models that enlarge the legal offer of cultural and creative content need to be developed in order to foster economic growth, employment and cultural diversity.
The European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights should thus be used as a platform for cooperation between representatives from national authorities and stakeholders that would help to stop infringements of intellectual property rights."@en1
