lpv:translated text	"Improving the understanding of the value of intellectual property and a proactive approach to intellectual property rights are vital to achieving the ambitious Europe 2020 strategy objectives. The high number of infringements against intellectual property rights poses a serious threat to the proper functioning of the internal market and, in many cases, to European consumers’ health and safety too. In addition, the rise in counterfeiting and piracy results in considerable tax revenue losses for Member States. Efficient, immediate and coordinated measures are required at national, European and global level to tackle this problem effectively. I would like to emphasise amongst these measures the importance of creating new competitive business models that enlarge the legal cultural and creative content offering required to foster economic growth, employment and cultural diversity. I voted in favour of this report."@en1
