"Madam President, Commissioner, I am addressing you once again because, to be honest, I find the situation in the area of training enormously worrying. We are spending millions of euros on ineffective training. Statistically it looks good, because part of the funds are being used. The companies that provide training are happy because their employees are not being made redundant, as there is no lack of unemployed people to take part in training. Often the unemployed are given financial incentives to take training courses. After the courses they do not go back on the labour market because the training courses do not provide unemployed people with qualifications that are appropriate or needed in the market.
I have a question that relates to this: Commissioner, please tell me – if such research exists – how much does it cost to get one unemployed person back onto the labour market and what is the relationship between European funds invested and the number of jobs created?"@en1
