"The subject of this report is important and timely. This report should be valued, in that it draws attention to the specific issues of women in war zones, such as
increased vulnerability in conflict situations, sexual violence and rape. Some recommendations are made for tackling the aforementioned dangers, by preventing them, and for properly considering gender particularities in military conflicts. However, the entire report is imbued with an undisguisable militarist vision, which is quite explicit when advocating better conditions for women in the military and civilian missions undertaken by NATO. However, what was needed was the unequivocal rejection of these missions and their consequences for women, whether those taking part in the conflict directly or their civilian victims; it also needed firmly to advocate peace and peaceful conflict resolution, which is an area in which women could, in fact, make an inestimable contribution."@en1
