I also believe that the report makes a practical contribution to identifying measures to guarantee the sustainable funding of sport and the protection of the integrity of competitions in the future. However, recognising a right to enjoy sporting events through betting is not the only way in which to provide for the economic support and integrity of sport. EU Member States such as Italy use efficient systems for allocating funding and I believe that it is vital for them to be able to maintain their good practices, abiding by the principle of subsidiarity.
