lpv:translated text	"I enthusiastically support the idea of creating the position of special representative on women, peace and security within the European External Action Service, as recommended in the report on women’s situation in war voted on today. This would help the European External Action Service to mainstream the equality perspective as part of external policy, especially as wars and conflict are an issue. At present, fewer than 10% of peace negotiators are women, although peace is in the interests of everyone – men and women. Wars and conflict affect women in many ways. One of the most brutal practices is sexual violence as a form of warfare. It affects everything: the victim’s physical and mental health, family relations, and her entire future. In the majority of cases, the guilty go unpunished. The victim, on the other hand, lives with it all her life. I would like to thank the rapporteur, Ms Nicolai, for what is an excellent and necessary report. I hope that it will also be read carefully by the European External Action Service."@en1
