Above all, we need to ensure fair and transparent relationships between producers, suppliers and distributors of food products and set out an effective regulatory mechanism. It is very important for farmers to be paid fair and profitable prices for agricultural production and for maximum profit margins to be set for large supermarkets. This will promote the fair distribution of added value throughout the food supply chain. I welcome the proposal in which the Commission calls for the retention of the production quota system, which should be adapted to the needs of each country."@en¹
