The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), which is a specialised agency of the United Nations, is a privileged place of decision making and influence. To sit there as a European entity and not as a group of Member States will accompany our efforts and accelerate our Single European Sky project. That is why I voted in favour of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the EU and the ICAO. As these decisions have a direct impact on our Community legislation, we must ensure that they are in line with our strategic orientations and our ethical considerations, first and foremost, our vision of the sustainable development of civil aviation."@en1
