lpv:translated text	"Like the rapporteur, I would like to draw your attention to a key argument we ignore while blindly chasing money. Even though, as the European Union, we lead the fight for human rights and sometimes even support the victims in their fight by sending troops, we forget about the tools that we have at hand, and that we can use without bloodshed. I am therefore in favour of abstaining from signing the protocol amending the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with Uzbekistan, in particular regarding the textile industry. We must not allow the suffering of thousands of children, who are exploited to harvest cotton. We cannot afford such hypocrisy. At the same time, we should strive to engage in dialogue with the authorities of Uzbekistan with the aim of changing the situation, which would make a trade agreement possible too."@en1
