I believe that we can draw a single conclusion today following this debate: Parliament cannot approve this agreement until we are certain about and obtain confirmation of an ILO mission in Uzbekistan. Last but not least, I am, of course, in favour of adopting a constructive approach. However, as long as there is no dialogue and no discussion partner, I believe, Commissioner, that you must give very serious consideration to the European Union initiating an inquiry into the temporary withdrawal of the Generalised System of Preferences rights, not to mention that we have a fairly large political influence, because European Union exports to Uzbekistan amount to no more than 0.5% of the total, and this is why I believe that we can have a fairly large influence on our partners. As I have said, we definitely need dialogue and a partner that you can talk to. As I have also said, we in this Parliament have failed to have this dialogue with the Uzbek representatives. In all sincerity, I would very much like us to find a solution, but, in the meantime, the only conclusion we must reach is to wait and see how the Uzbek Government responds."@en1
