It seems to me that, in the current circumstances of budget deficits and excessive public debt in various Member States, and the deepening demands of the Union for budget stabilisation, it is healthy for Member States to include the defence sector within public expenditure reductions, particularly in countries where expenditure on defence is relatively high, as in Portugal, and they should not be criticised."@en1
