lpv:translated text	"The aim of this recommendation is to extend the protocol relating to the EU-Morocco Fisheries Partnership Agreement for another year. This protocol, signed in May 2006, sets out the fishing opportunities for EU vessels, taking account of the surplus stocks available and, at the same time, the associated financial compensation – the second highest EU tax – and support for the sustainable development of this sector. Despite the various controversial issues relating to the results/consequences of this agreement, not least cost-effectiveness, species sustainability, the environment and the issue of the Western Sahara, I think it is important to extend the agreement for another three months and also to begin negotiating a new protocol to the fisheries agreement, which addresses the aforementioned shortcomings."@en1
