"The multilateral trade system represents the most suitable framework for regulating and promoting open and fair trade, as well as guaranteeing that fair and equitable global trade rules are developed across countries. However, European companies have serious difficulties in establishing themselves in some markets, particularly in China, Brazil and Argentina, where measures restricting trade in European products have been adopted. I am voting for this report as I believe that non-tariff barriers to European countries should be eliminated or reduced, and that international regulatory cooperation should be improved, foreign direct investment to the European economy encouraged in key markets, and a stable and attractive environment for European investors abroad promoted. Finally, I believe that the Commission should make every effort to draw up a complete and up-to-date inventory of the key barriers faced by EU companies."@en1
