lpv:translated text	"During the part-session in Strasbourg today, we voted on the report by Mr Sturdy on reducing and removing trade barriers and unjustified regulatory obstacles applied by the EU’s strategic partners to trade and investment. It was considered that the European Union, which has sole competence over trade and investment, should address non-tariff barriers (NTBs) as part of the Europe 2020 strategy, bringing together both a diplomatic effort to be pursued in close cooperation with the European External Action Service (EEAS), and an enhanced regulatory dialogue with the EU’s trade partners, in order to put NTBs at the heart of international negotiations. It was also hoped that the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the Commission would work together to underline the advantages of trade liberalisation so that the European Union can fully enjoy the opportunities of an open market, while at the same time offsetting possible negative externalities of widespread liberalisation by mutually agreeing with their trade partners on certain transitional exceptions."@en1
