The problems of national budgets put many states in difficulty when it comes to fulfilling the commitments coming to an end on cofinanced Community programmes. Mr De Castro’s report, for which I voted, seeks to increase the rate of EU cofinancing for programmes which are running, in other words, to grant the possibility of additional financing to try to meet the State in difficulty halfway in order to avoid more serious difficulties, in the hope that the Member States in question will be able to cope with the emergency."@en1
