"The victim of a crime who benefits from a protection order in an EU Member State will continue to be protected should they decide to move to another EU Member State, in line with the new rules adopted by Parliament. This protection will, for example, apply to victims of domestic violence, harassment, abduction, persecution or attempted murder. Protection measures exist in all EU Member States, but they cease to have effect when an individual crosses a country’s borders. This European Protection Order aims to ensure that the protection offered to an individual in one Member State will be maintained and continued in any other Member State to which the person relocates or has been relocated."@en1
