lpv:translated text	"This proposal for a directive on the European Protection Order is based on an initiative by 12 Member States. This directive is aimed at setting out the measures that allow a Member State to continue to protect an individual against a crime being committed against them by another person which could endanger their life, their physical or psychological integrity, dignity, personal liberty or sexual integrity. The ultimate goal is to avoid new criminal acts, to reduce the consequences of previous criminal acts and to enhance victims’ protection. The main change in comparison with Parliament’s position at first reading concerns the scope of application of the instrument, which has been partially redefined, by providing a closer link between the possibility of issuing a European Protection Order and criminal conduct.
