The main change in comparison with Parliament’s position at first reading concerns the application of the instrument which enables a European protection and criminal conduct order to be issued. I must stress the benefits of this amendment, as it helps to strengthen the rights of victims in the EU, and will lead to the Council’s recognition of important protection measures in civil matters. This revision of the agreement at first reading is essential in order for us to improve the legal framework of the European Union, and it helps to strengthen European democracy."@en1
