"The European Union Solidarity Fund (EUSF) is used to provide aid for regions hit by natural disasters. Recently, the earthquake in Spain’s Murcia region and the floods in Italy’s Veneto region have led to a request from these two Member States for the mobilisation of EUR 38 million in commitment and payment appropriations from the EUSF, so as to mitigate the consequences of both disasters. As such, I am voting for this amending budget, since I believe that such aid should not be denied to these Member States, given the extent of the damage caused as a result of these disasters."@en1
