"The importance of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor project, the aim of which is to develop fusion energy, means there is a fully justified need to increase the funds necessary for the project to be sustained and developed, and for it to produce the intended results. Given the importance of this project, it is well known that, in addition to the European Union, the People’s Republic of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Russian Federation and the United States are also involved, while there are other countries interested in taking part. The constant demand for alternatives to the energy sources currently being used is leading to the search for more abundant, cheaper and cleaner energy sources, so the Union should not distance itself from the projects in pursuit of that goal in which it is involved."@en1
