This is about an independent position, about a person who we feel is either right or wrong for the job. It is not about a delegate from a government. We need to state this quite clearly. Next time, the Group of the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats) will perhaps also demand that a Commissioner is replaced because the government has changed.
