lpv:translated text	"Mr President, the Portuguese Government has just introduced the compulsory toll on the motorway that links the Portuguese region of the Algarve with the Spanish region of Andalusia, which has led to displeasure and rejection across the board on both the Portuguese and Spanish sides, given that it is a road that is used a great deal by Europeans from both nations and those from third countries, who use this area, privileged in terms of nature and climate, as their regular residence or for holidays. The measure has caused astonishment as the construction of the aforementioned motorway was funded by European funds, and also for the very negative effect on transport, trade, and tourism, which has caused the President of the Andalusian Regional Government, José Antonio Griñán, to express his displeasure and to protest. From here within the European Commission, we urge the new Spanish Government and the Portuguese Government, both PPE, to revoke the measure, or at least adopt compensation actions for the small and medium-sized companies and workers that are affected."@en1
