"Madam President, greater protection for victims of violence is a positive thing, in line with the principle of mutual recognition. We know that it is women who are the main victims of persecution, harassment and violence, so interventions are needed at various levels to protect women, but also to protect all those, female and male, who are victims of human trafficking.
We know that this is an important step, although we would still like other decisions to be taken in this area. Challenges remain, but the visibility this gives to this situation is a positive aspect, nonetheless, as is the attempt for us to, let us say, gather our strength to protect women who are victims of violence and all those, male or female, who are in this situation."@en1
