lpv:translated text	"The association agreement with Ukraine is a huge step towards closer relations with our eastern neighbours. Given the need to make constant improvements to security and economic development, cooperation with Kiev will benefit the entire Community. While supporting Ukraine in the process of reforming certain areas of life, as provided for in the Treaty, I also expect the Ukrainian authorities to be committed to the full adaptation of political, legal and administrative conditions in order to allow the free participation of all citizens in the political process. I consider the development of civil society to be extremely important, since it is a key element in democratisation. By raising the social consciousness of citizens and increasing their participation in public life, we will stimulate the growth of a modern and friendly Ukrainian state. I therefore support the call for the immediate creation of an EU Information Office. I am glad that the negotiations on the association agreement are being concluded during the Polish Presidency, which has placed a firm emphasis on relations within the Eastern Partnership throughout its term.
