Information and high-quality services and products to protect against transmission and to promote safe behaviour are essential for the fight to be effective. It is regrettable, however, that advantage has been taken of this resolution to include issues relating to abortion and emergency contraception. I believe these issues are not part of the objective of this resolution and should be treated more responsibly, as they raise serious ethical questions. Since I voted against that paragraph, and as it was adopted by a majority of Members, I abstained from the final vote on the resolution."@en1
