lpv:translated text	"Parliament has approved the Council’s recommendation on the admission of Croatia to the EU, thanks, in part, to my vote in favour. After eight years of negotiations, we have finally arrived at the decisive moment when the Croatian people will decide in a referendum next year whether their country will be part of the EU from 2013 onwards. Croatia must be recognised for having reached an historic goal in its process of integration, successfully concluding accession negotiations with the EU after having satisfied requirements in relation to the legal system, the protection of fundamental rights and fighting corruption.
