lpv:translated text	"In February 2010, I wrote that Croatia had been undeniably successful in fulfilling the criteria for membership, and that it had made an effort to continue along this path, despite the additional difficulties that it had to face in view of the international situation, and that Croatia was a good example for other countries wishing to become part of the European Union. Fortunately, Croatia has not deviated from this path, so that, in accordance with the criteria established by the EU, it is now ready to join this community of Member States and peoples. I welcome the Croatian people and their institutions at this important time in its history and in our common European history, and I hope that Croatia’s accession to the EU will provide a new impetus for reform to the Balkan countries that are not yet part of the EU, and to the EU itself."@en1
