"I voted in favour of Croatia’s accession to the European Union as I feel that this country has met all the conditions, both political and economic, to be able to become a member of the EU. Croatia’s accession helps the European Union prove that it remains receptive and capable of maintaining a genuine, constructive dialogue with its immediate neighbours. This is an extremely important consideration, especially during the current crisis the EU is going through, forcing it to become introverted. Dialogue and openness, both fundamental values of the EU, must remain benchmarks not only in its external relations and in issues such as immigration, but also with regard to internal European dynamics. This dialogue and openness should help kick-start the EU’s integration by rejecting nationalistic or xenophobic behaviour."@en1
