"I voted in favour of this resolution because the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights must be flexible. Currently, the formulation is very rigid, and this makes it difficult to implement action financed by external aid. In specific cases, we must make it possible to allow costs related to taxes, duties and other charges, which are not eligible for EU funding, to be financed more flexibly, so that these instruments are implemented effectively and their objectives achieved."@en1
